Instagram is lining up to take on the likes of YouTube, launching an Instagram new feature; their very own video platform allowing users to upload videos up to an hour in length!
The move comes after the Social Media giant reaches more than 1 billion users worldwide.
What differentiates IGTV is that it is built for mobile first, showing videos in a vertical orientation, full screen.
“It’s time for video to move forward, and evolve” Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom stated at the launch event on IGTV on Thursday June 21, 2018.
The Instagram new feature, IGTV is yet to integrate paid advertising into the platform but Systrom made comments at the launch event that IGVT is “…obviously a very reasonable place for ads to end up.”
